Found guilty, 11 January 1916, of (1) leaving the ranks without permission; (2) conduct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline - insubordinate language to his superior officer: awarded 7 days' confined to barracks and forfeits 2 days' pay. Taken on strength of 'B' Company, 32nd Bn, Tel el Kebir, 3 March 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 23 June 1916.
