Wounded in action, 22 October 1916 (gun shot wound, head, back, thigh, right hand); admitted to 38th Casualty Clearing Station, 23 October 1916; to Ambulance Train, 25 October 1916, and admitted to 26th General Hospital, Etaples, 26 October 1916; to England, 4 November 1916, and admitted to Chelmsford Red Cross Hospital; transferred to 1st Auxiliary Hospital, Harefield, 8 November 1916; discharged on furlough, 23 March 1917, to report to 1st Auxiliary Hospital , 29 March 1917.
