Other details | Emigrated to Australia in 1912 with 2nd Class Certificate of Education. Before enlisting worked on family farm at Tongala, Victoria and as a jackaroo and butcher in Queensland. He enlisted from Echuca, Victoria and served at Gallipoli in 1915 and France in 1916. Married Elsie Rabone on 4 June 1917 at Warminster, England. They had one daughter and four sons. Retired as a sub-station officer from the Metropolitan Fire Brigade on 27 July 1955. He lived in Perth in 1956 and then Swan Hill from 1957 until his death. |
