War service: disembarked Suez and marched in to Reinforcements Camp, Moascar,10 December 1917. Marched out to 2nd Light Horse Training Regiment, 21 May 1918. Transferred to 6th Light Horse Regiment, 6 June 1918, and taken on strength, Solomon's Pools, 10 June 1918. Admitted to 44th Stationary Hospital, Kantara, 15 January 1919 (malaria), and listed as dangerously ill. Removed from dangerously ill list, 23 February 1919. Admitted to 14th Australian General Hospital, Abbassia, 23 February 1919 (broncho-pneumonia). Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Euripides', 15 March 1919 (debility); disembarked Sydney, 20 April 1919, for onward travel to Melbourne; discharged (medically unfit), 15 June 1919.
