Military Medal 'On the morning of the 11th August, 1918, near FRAMERVILLE, East of AMINES, during consolidation, the work was greatly hindered by an enemy machine gun post about 200 yards down a trench. This N.C.O. and three other ranks went out and bombing down the saps after a very determined resistance on the part of the gun's crew, succeeded in killing an Officer and putting the balance of the garrison to flight. By this action we were able to consolidate our positions without any further casualties. His conduct during the operation was most noticeable on account of his coolness and utter disregard of danger setting a magnificent example to the remainder of the Company.'
