Military Medal 'Whilst engaged in the operations near HARBONNIERES, East of VILLERS-BRETONNEUX on 8th August 1918, he displayed exceptional courage and devotion to duty under heavy machine gun rifle fire and controlled two guns in a manner so efficient as to render invaluable assistance to the infantry by inflicting many casualties on the enemy. Throughout the operations he set a splendid example to all with whom he came in contact.'
