Military Cross 'During operations in the vicinity of Monntbrehain, on 5th October 1918, soon after the attack had been launched, he pushed his aid post forward under heavy shell fire, and established it at a most advanced position. Throughout the day he worked unceasingly, showing fearless devotion to duty, and was the means of saving many lives.'
