Medals |
Military Medal 'Is brought to notice for his great gallantry and capable leadership near HEBUTERNE on the 29th March, 1918, when he led the bombers of his Platoon up an unexplored trench. He led the way with great daring and when the Platoon could proceed no further he went forward; crawling on his hands and knees, and bombed a small enemy post. He also gained most useful information. When his Platoon came back after the raid, he voluntarily stayed behind to bring in a wounded comrade, regardless of personal danger and of the probability of being cut off by the enemy. He is recommended for distinction.'
