Proceeded overseas to France, 22 September 1916; taken on strength, 55th Bn, in the field, 7 October 1916.

Admitted to 5th Field Ambulance, 13 December 1916 (mumps), and transferred to Casualty Clearing Station; to 3rd Stationary Hospital, Rouen, 14 December 1916 (injured right foot); to England, 14 December 1916, and admitted to Royal Victoria Hospital, Netley, 16 December 1916; marched into No 1 Command Depot, Perham Downs, 6 March 1917, from furlough following hospital discharge.

Proceeded overseas to France, 14 October 1917; rejoined 55th Bn, in the field, 26 October 1917.

Killed in action, 16 March 1918.
