Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack on our positions opposite ALBERT and DERNANCOURT on the 5th April 1918. When every other man of his gun detachment had been wounded he continued the service of his gun single handed and thus kept it in action on an important supporting barrage. The Battery was under heavy shell fire during this time.'
