War service: Western Front Medical Board, No 1 Stationary Hospital, Rouen, 25 March 1918, concluded: 'This soldier is suffering from chronic gonorrhea, arthritis of both knees wirh much limitation of movement ... The Board is of the opinion that it will be at least 12 mnoths before he is fit for Active service, & it is quite possible that he will never be fit for Active Service again. The Board recommend he be discharged from the Service as permanently unfit.' Commenced return to Australia on board HT 'Nestor', 1 November 1919; discharged (medically unfit), 5 June 1920.
