Medals |
Meritorious Service Medal 'For conspicuous good work and devotion to duty during period 26th February to 20th September, 1917. During this Division's tour of duty at BAPAUME Between 28th March and 14th April, 1917, when attacks on NOREUIL and BULLECOURT took place, the excellent and uninterrupted communications maintained throughout between Division and attacking Brigades were mainly due to Corporal MILLS unceasing and untiring energy in constantly testing and switching from bad to good circuits. From 6th to 14th June, 1917, during the attack on MESSINES, Corporal MILLS again worked day and night unceasingly, sparing himself so little that I was compelled to spell him at Rest Camp. Throughout, his work has been of the highest quality, his expert handling of lines and instruments, combined with his initiative, have largely assisted in maintaining splendid communications at all times.'
