War service: Egypt, Western Front Disembarked Suez, ex-HMAT 'Geelong', 18 December 1915. Found guilty, 28 February 1916, of neglect of duty in that dishes in cooks lines were not clean: admonished. Admitted to No 15 Field Ambulance, Ferry Post, then transferred to No 8 Field Ambulance, Ferry Post, 20 May 1916 (influenza); discharged and rejoined 32nd Bn, 25 May 1916. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 17 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 23 June 1916. Killed in action, 19 July 1916.
