Military Medal 'Near POLYGON de ZONNEBEKE east of YPRES during the operations 20/22nd September 1917, Cpl. MITCHELL, although badly shaken by a exploding shell, proceeded to the front line, remaining there during the operations. He did splendid work in dressing the wounded, working in the open and under heavy shell fire.'
