War service: Egypt, Gallipoli, Western Front Joined 8th Bn, Gallipoli, 7 December 1915. Disembarked Alexandria, 7 January 1916 (general Gallipoli evacuation). Admitted to 2nd Field Ambulance, Serapeum, 19 February 1916 (pyrexia); transferred to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station, 20 February 1916; discharged to duty, 24 February 1916. Transferred to 60th Bn, 24 February 1916. Found guilty, Ferry Post, 4 April 1916, of disobedience of orders, viz. on line of march throwing orange peel down when halted: forfeited 2 days' pay. Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 18 June 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 29 June 1916. Reported Missing, 19 July 1916.
