'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He went forward with the infantry attack, established communications, and sent forward most valuable information throughout the whole of two days, enabling his group to break up enemy counter attacks and concentrations. He displayed the greatest initiative courage, and disregard to danger.'
