'On 15/16 May 1917 between A.C.S. and A.D.S. near Noreuil this driver displayed conspicuous coolness and bravery whilst his wagon was under very heavy shell fire. At night, when his wagon was shelled most heavily, he drove his team with skill and judgment and helped materially in getting the wounded away to safety with all speed.'
