Military Medal

'Near HOOGE on the night of 27th September 1917, Corporal Berriman by his coolness and courage greatly assisted in getting the teams up to the place where the ammunition had to be dumped. he assisted to unload the ammunition from the distressed animals. During this time the teams were under heavy enemy shell fire. He also assisted to carry down two wounded men.'
