Proceeded from Alexandria to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force (Gallipoli), 28 September 1915.

Admitted to No. 1 Australian Stationary Hospital, Mudros, 28 September 1915 (mumps). Reported for duty at Gallipoli, 16 October 1915. Admitted to hospital, Gallipoli, 17 December 1915 (jaundice); transferred to Alexandria, 23 December 1915; returned to duty (Egypt), 5 February 1916.

Admitted to 7th Field Ambulance, 20 February 1916; transferred to 5th Field Ambulance, 21 February 1916; returned to duty, 4 March 1916.

Proceeded from Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 18 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, 25 March 1916.

Detached to Trench Mortar School, 4-12 November 1916.

Wounded in action, 13 November 1916 (gun shot wound, right arm).
