Military Medal 'On the night of September 25/26th in Polygon Wood this N.C.O. did conspicuously good work. This man after twice attempting to carry through a heavy Barrage .... This N.C.O. by his example took them through to the R.A.P. and evacuated the wounded. by his gallantry and devotion to duty he undoubtedly saved lives and helped to ensure a prompt evacuation and for this, his conduct is worthy of recognition.'
