'A reliable and very courageous N.C.O. who has served his Battalion with much zeal and devotion to duty. During the period 16th/17th September, 1918, to 11th November, 1918, this N.C.O. was conspicuous for the manner in which he served his Battalion in the duties of a C.Q.M.S. being attached to a Headquarters Company made up of various large details. When the Battalion was in the line period 16th/17th September, to 26th September, 1918, near PERONNE he worked with the greatest assiduity and devotion to ensure adequate and prompt supplies.
