Meritorious Service Medal 'During the past four months Private T. Moore has been very conspicuous in his conduct, coolness, and devotion to duty while working with his platoon, more especially while engaged in forward road works in ZONNEBEKE area. On several occasions, when the part he was working with was heavily and continuously harassed by enemy shell fire, he was of great assistance to his platoon commander and platoon sergeant in helping to collect the men when the firing had eased off, and by his encouragement and example, getting them quickly back to their work. He has on many occasions been the first to give assistance to wounded men. He is an original man of the battalion, and has always been conspicuous for his coolness and bravery, setting a high example of discipline and courage to all.'
