Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the attack by the 58th Battalion on PERONNE on 2nd September 1918. Before the attack commenced the situation was very obscure and Sergeant MOSS led a patrol forward under very heavy machine gun and shell fire and got in touch with the enemy. At the commencement of the attack Sergeant MOSS led a fighting patrol in advance of the Company being held up by machine gun post, he with his party outflanked same killing the entire crew of 8 men and securing gun. On moving forward again he outflanked another post killing and capturing the entire garrison of 2 officers and 15 men. The splendid work of this N.C.O. enabled the company to advance with great rapidity, which resulted in the capture of many machine guns and prisoners. His splendid dash and determination were an example to all.'
