Military Medal 'During the First Australian Divisional Offensive on 10th August 1918 No 2689 Private Norman John Edwin MOUNSEY in company with No 2621 Lance Corporal H.N. McLEOD 3rd Australian Field Ambulance was on duty as stretcher bearer in the forward area, whilst passing a battery a shell was noticed to explode in a gun pit killing one man and wounding four others, although the battery was under heavy shell fire, they went out into the open dressed the wounded men and carried them to a place of comparative safety. Their courage and coolness have drawn upon them the admiration of their comrades.'
