Military Medal 'On the night 7th/8th June, 1917, at PLOEGSTEERT WOOD, Private MUDIE displayed great gallantry and determination in making several trips as a stretcher bearer between a Regimental Aid Post and the Advanced Dressing Station and was conspicuous for his coolness under heavy fire. on a previous occasion he showed extreme devotion to duty in assisting to carry a wounded man from HYDE PARK CORNER, D.C.P. to the Advanced Dressing Station, CHARING CROSS, under heavy shell fire. On the same night assisted by Private FARNSWORTH he brought a severely wounded comrade from R.A.P. to the Advanced Dressing Station, passing through a heavy enemy barrage. His conduct throughout has been characterised by great determination and an invincible resolve to perform his duty irrespective of any risk to himself.'
