Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty on 9 August 1918, near Vanvillers, in leading a charge against a machine gun post, which was causing heavy casualties. He continued his untiring efforts the next two days, and set a fine example to his comrades.'
