Disembarked Alexandria, Egypt, 4 January 1916.

Admitted to No 2 Field Ambulance, Tel el Kebir, 15 January 1916, and transferred to No 2 Australian General Hospital, Cairo, the same day (influenza).

Marched out of 3rd Training Bn, Zeitoun, 17 March 1916, and rejoined 9th Bn.

Taken on strength of 49th Bn, Serapeum, 2 April 1916.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 5 June 1916; disembarked, Marseilles, France, 12 June 1916.

Wounded in action, 14 August 1916, and admitted to Divisional Rest Station the same day (shell shock); transferred to No 5 Ambulance Train, 19 August 1916; to No 20 General Hospital, Etaples, 20 August 1916; to No 6 Convalescent Depot, Etaples, 6 September 1916; marched into 4th Australian Divisional Base Depot, Etaples, 20 September 1916.
