Admitted to Field Ambulance, 28 November 1915; transferred to No 1 Casualty Clearing Station, 1 December 1915, and thence to Hospital Ship 'Dongala'; disembarked Alexandria, 4 December 1915 (juandice), and admitted same day to No 2 Australian General Hospital, Ghezireh. Transferred to No 3 Auxiliary Hospital, Heliopolis, 9 December 1915; to Overseas Base, Zeitoun, 28 January 1916; rejoined Bn, Serapeum, 6 March 1916.

Embarked Alexandria to join the British Expeditionary Force, 22 March 1916; disembarked Marseilles, France, 28 March 1916.
