Meritorious Service Medal 'During the period 26th March to September 1918 this N.C.O. has carried out the duties of Company Storeman in a highly efficient and reliable manner. During the greater part of this time, owing to casualties among senior N.C.O.s he has acted as Company Quartermaster Sergeant, which position he has filled in a highly satisfactory manner. /During long periods in the forward area under adverse weather conditions and trying circumstances his work was of the utmost benefit to his Company in his careful supervision and untiring efforts in the feeding of the men. he has many times been under very heavy hostile shelling, but always got his rations to the men. His zeal conscientiousness, ability and loyalty are valuable assets to the Battalion.'
