Military Medal 'During the operations in the vicinity of ZONNEBEKE between the 4th/11th October, 1917, Sergeant MURRAY showed great devotion to duty. On the 4th October, 1917, when in charge of a gun team, his ability in handling his men and the fearlessness he displayed under the most trying circumstances was very marked. He kept his team working and guns firing under very heavy enemy barrage at 5.45 a.m. and by his courage and cheerfulness, he constantly encouraged his men.'
