'In the vicinity of Bellicourt and Nauroy, on 29th September 1918, he acted as mounted patrol. He showed great gallantry and initiative throughout the day, obtaining valuable disposition and progress reports, especially keeping in touch with the division on the right, and sending in information of their having crossed the canal. He later rode across the front to another division, and made a valuable report on the situation on the Le Catelet-Nauroy trench system.'
