Military Medal 'For conspicuous bravery and devotion to duty while in charge of a stretcher squads at MENIN ROAD, near YPRES, on 4th October 1917. Under exceptionally heavy shell fire he repeatedly rescued wounded and buried men. He set a splendid example throughout to the remainder of the Bearers by his courage and devotion to duty.'
