Distinguished Conduct Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry, energy, and devotion to duty on 11 October, 1918, when the battery was being heavily shelled and one gun had been put out of action and a quantity of ammunition burnt by shell fire. He was No. 1 of the other gun of the section, and, under heavy fire, kept his gun in action all night. (MO/452 of 20 September 1919).
