Embarked from Alexandria to join British Expeditionary Force, 29 March; disembarked Marseilles, France, 4 April 1916. Admitted to 26th General Hospital, Etaples, with influenza, 28 May 1916; transferred to 24th General Hospital (Isolation Ward), Etaples, 1 June 1916; discharged to duty, 22 June 1916. Transferred to 1st Pioneer Bn and taken on strength, 29 June 1916. Re-allotted No. 4018A, 8 August 1917. On leave in the United Kingdom, 30 August-14 September 1917.
