Proceeded from Egypt to join the Mediterranean Expeditionary Force at Gallipoli, 16 August 1915.

Wounded in action, 22 August 1915 (gun shot wound, jaw, fracture; injury sustained in bayonet charge), and admitted to 16th Casualty Clearing Station. Transferred to England, and admitted to 3rd London General Hospital, Wandsworth, 9 September 1915.

Commenced return to Australia on board 'Suevic', 11 March 1916; disembarked Sydney, 22 April 1916; discharged, 15 December 1916.
