Found guilty of being absent without leave from mapping party, 20 December 1915; sentenced to 168 hours' detention. Detention remitted but pay stopped.

Disembarked Alexandria from Mudros, 7 January 1916.

Found guilty, 29 January 1916 of (1) being absent from parade without permission; (2) absent from retreat roll call; (3) absent from parade without permission, 28 February 1916. awarded 7 days' Field Punishment No 2.

Found guilty, 10 March 1916, of when on Active Service conduct to the prejudice of good order and Military Discipline, in that he said to Military Policeman Pte Norman Churchman 'You are a bastard' or words to that effect; (2) when on Active Service using threatening language to his Superior Officer, in that he said to 2nd Lt W.A. Bayliss of the 8th Bn, 'Hop out here and I'll have a piece of you you bastard.. 'I will get you another time.' Sentenced to 12 months' imprisonment with hard labour.
