Military Medal

'Sapper NORTHEY did specially good work on the night of the 31st August, 1916, when repairing telephone lines for thirteen hours under very severe enemy shell fire. It was greatly due to his continuous efforts that good communication was maintained between Brigade Headquarters and Battalions during the period the Brigade was in action at POZIERES.'
