Distinguished Conduct Medal

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during the operations near Estrees on 3-4 October, 1918. He led stretcher bearer parties out over the shell swept area and was responsible for bringing in many wounded. During the attack at dawn on 4 October he went forward and attended to wounded under heavy machine gun fire.'
