Statement, Red Cross File No 380506, 3170 Pte J.H. WILSON, A company, 54th Bn (ex-POW), 20 January 1919: 'He had just got up to fire his rifle when he was killed outright by [a] bullet. Must have been hit in the head by M.G. bullet, but I did not examine him to see where he was hit. I was alongside him when he was killed.'
