'At EAUCOURT L'ABBAYE, FRANCE on 16th February, 1917 the trenches of 12th Bn. were heavily bombarded, Pvt. O'Loughlin, a stretcher bearer, displayed great gallantry in dressing the wounded under fire and devotion to duty in carrying them back to the Regimental Aid Post over wet and slippery ground.'
