Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry in leadidng his section after being wounded against the trenches near BULLECOURT on 3rd May 1917. During a bomb attack he picked up and threw a Mills bomb with lever released that first been dropped by a wounded man thereby undoubtedly saving several casualties.'
