Meritorious Service Medal 'For meritorious service and devotion to duty during period 16th September to November 11th, 1918. On 27th and 28th September, 1918, this Non Commissioned Officer was in charge of Traffic Control posts at BASSE - BOURLOGNE, which were under enemy Artillery fire and bombs from Aircraft. The smooth and efficient working of traffic at these posts was largely due to his initiative and coolness.'
