Military Medal 'This N.C.O. displayed magnificent conduct during operations in front of LE VERGUIER North West of St. QUENTIN on 13th September, 1918. He was in charge of a platoon during an intense H.E. and Gas bombardment, and, although blinded by gas, he continued to supervise the anti-gas measures. By being led about by a Private he made sure that all reasonable precautions had been taken. It was not until he had received a direct order that he was induced to go to a R.A.P. His bearing throughout the operations was of the highest order.'
