Military Medal 'At BROODSEINDE Ridge east of YPRES during the operations from 1st to 8th October, 1917 Pte OLIVER'S work as a Signaller and Runner was largely responsible for the maintenance of communication when our position was subjected to Enemy shell fire. Frequently when a line was out this soldier would immediately go out even through heavy shell fire to repair his line. When telephonic communication was not available this soldiers work in carrying messages of important nature was unequalled.'
