'On 5th and 6th April, 1918, at BUIRE near ALBERT this man maintained telephone lines under heavy shell fire. His Company held a most important position on the left flank and during an attack by the enemy, it was due to his devotion and untiring energy, that his Commanding Officer was kept informed of the situation. He did magnificent work and displayed courage and resourcefulness of the highest order.'
