Military Medal

'For devotion to duty in action East of YPRES on 4th October 1917. This N.C.O. kept his Battery supplied with rations in the front line during the action of 4th/5th instant. In spite of the difficulties caused by intense enemy shelling both in the rear and forward areas, and notwithstanding the exceedingly muddy conditions which made carrying very difficult he persevered and was successful.'
