Military Cross 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in charge of the brigade forward signal station. In spite of the enemy barrage all the lines were laid. Owing to casualties among trained men he had personally to supervise the laying and maintenance of all communications. He succeeded in maintaining them throughout the attack.'
