Military Medal

' For bravery and devotion to dutyduring the operations of BROODSEINDE RIDGE east of YPRES on 4th Oct., 1917. Corporal PARKER was in charge of Company Carriers. He kept his command well together throughout and delivered his loads intact in every instance to Company Headquarters notwithstanding the fact that they had to pass through heavy enemy barrages. In some instances by making wide detours he was able to avoid certain shelled areas and thus minimise the risk of casualties. During the period of waiting for fresh orders, etc. he assisted his platoon in consolidation work. He set a splendid example of courage and initiative which instilled confidence in his men.'
