Medals |
Meritorious Service Medal 'Since the formation of this unit in 1915 Sergeant PATRICK has continuously performed the duties of Headquarters Sergeant. By extreme keenness, tireless devotion to duty and his anxiety to do all work within his capacity whether it is his duty or not, Sergeant PATRICK has been a most valuable N.C.O. throughout his service. For the first five months of the present year the company was constantly either three or four officers below strength. Throughout this period, and particularly during the SOMME advance and the BULLECOURT operations Sergeant PATRICK was of the utmost assistance to overworked officers in writing up their numerous works and reconnaissance reports and in maintaining touch with detached portions of the company. Sergeant PATRICK has worked for over twelve months within field artillery range of the enemy and has frequently been under fire. His work throughout would have been a credit to any unit, his records are in excellent condition and his personal conduct has been most exemplary.'
