Military Medal 'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during operations West of BELLENGLISE on 18th September 1918. This man was Company Scout, and when the objective was reached he went forward alone for three hundred yards, and though exposed to sniper's fire he completed his reconnaissance and brought back valuable information regarding enemy dispositions.'
